7 days and 6 nights of Jap!!! Part2 cont.
Day 3:
I stopped keeping track of time here.

Went to the Owakudani boiling valley, which is a crater formed by the previous eruption of Mt Hakone, more than 3000 yrs ago. The place stinks. Literally.

Read this sign to find out why (above for those metally retarded people)
Anyway as we walked up the steps towards the "crater" the whole place became foggier, which was due to the steam.

Looks like a cemetary ^^

This is the "crater" which is actually an extremely hot spring. 80 degree celsius xD

These were these special black eggs that were cooked in the natural crater's water.

After peeling the black shell away, it looks just like a normal egg! And tastes the same too.

We ate kaisaki for lunch, which is essentially like a 7-10 course chinese dinner, but all the dishes are portioned up and served all at once.
There was a toilet outside the restaurant, and guess what I saw pasted over all the urinals. (see picture below)

the chinese version sounds cheem. the english...
according to my sis, the female toilet had a different sign. (pasted over the toilet bowls) It reads: Please remain seated for the entire performance. =) so hilarious!

We checked into this tiny hotel that was more like an inn for the night. The reason- there were hot springs. But i decided not to go because of the tour guide's explanation. First, you enter the shower area where you ARE REQUIRED to scrub yourself clean. Where everyone showering can also see you. Next you walk into the pool nude and soak. later wear the yukata (a japanese bathrobe that can be used as outside clothes) after drying off and go back to your room. underwear is not encouraged and the yukata is so...flimsy. and that is why i did not go =D
*2nd reason i wanted to play my gameboy and gameboys dont work underwater*

The tour guide was full of interesting stories and throughout the trip she told us more than 10 of them. Some of the more interesting ones were:
1) Her life story-she was born a singaporean, she goes to Japan, comes back to Singapore later. Then goes back to Japan. Became a tour guide.
2)This Korean singer/actor went to Japan in the late 1980s, everyone was crazy over him. When she visited her friend's friend's house, she saw an alarming sight. Posters, accessories, wallpaper etcetc about the Korean guy filled the house. And *gasp*! the woman had cut out her husband's head from their wedding photo and pasted the Korean guy there!!! And they were not divorced or anything. When asked if her husband minded her obsession, she replied:"he is also a fan!" =.=

P.S. my phone is a nokia 5800 Comes with Music

9am| At Universal Studios Japan. USJ is a theme park that is all over the world. It has rides from Universal Studios Movies like Spiderman, ET, blahblahblah
I didn't even get to try a single ride. (courtesy of mum who has "weak heart") Only watch 2 performances. Pui. Somemore both in Jap. liddat how to understand???? Pui. Anaways the 2nd one is called Waterworld. Based on the movie Waterworld. o.0 It was damned interesting khae! The props were like, WHOA. got exploding airplanes, motorboats spinning in the air, and lots of flare guns and cannons. The people sitting in first row super suay. Splashed by cold water repeatedly. In a 10 degree Celsius environment. I wasn't wearing a jacket, actually shivered leh.
5pm| At a shopping district called Shinsaibashu, looks like a big crowded Chinatown.
6pm| My 1st time eating shabu-shabu!

40mins ltr...zzz zzz zzz zzz...

Day 2:
6am| Morning call

9am| Arrived at Kyoto via bus, visit the Kiyomizu temple. I bought a hat with the Japanese/Chinese (bth also can) character for Sarumai. It looks familiar, but i cant remember how to read it :) Li Lao Shi would kill me

All the red-leaved trees are Maple Trees (: nice scenery (:

Please do not comment on the supershort haircut... my mum told the guy at EC house to "cut it as short as possible, very handsome, like pilot". exact words.
10.45am| Got a Kimono fashion show just outside the restaurant, and we were early so the tour guide brought us to watch it.
11am| It ended fast, surprisingly. Lunch was tempura and rice.
12pm| Visited the Rokuon-Ji Temple, or The Golden Pavilion. Most have cost a bomb to build it.
2.30pm| At the train station, supposed to shop for 1 hour+. Everytime we go shopping my mum and sis buys alot... while me and my dad just watch.
3.45pm| Dinner. (Japanese eat super early, and in Japan time now is 1645)
.(shopping)
.(wander about)
.(sit down)

Look at this Christmas tree in the train station. It is 8 storeys high. boning this totally owns our pagoda...
5.56pm| EXACTLY. The bullet train, or Shinkansen takes off.
We taking the one coloured in red that says Hikari (top left), which means express. Theres normal, express and super express.
