First learnt about the tunnels where the vietnamese fought the americans. the tunnels were so smart lor, much better than trench warfare. The vid explaining abt them sarked. It was in vietnamese. And bad graphics.

The traps were one word-Zai. Got one the soldier step on the floor it swing open and he drops onto spikes. Just like in movies leh. 1 that when u step on that spot ur leg is impaled by 7 fish-hook spikes. Natural reaction to pull ur leg out;it will rip ur flesh right off. ACK. The best trap-when the american soldier slams the door open the trap swings at him. he, obviously expecting resistance, would block the bamboo stick heading for his face. But its attached to a metal chain with rusty nails 50cm long. O.O The nails impales the guy's...part. LOL! poor american soldier.

Oh and all the traps are designed to maim not kill. Cos its better to injure as the injured guy would be a burden. The dead guy will just lie there.

Then when the americans chase them into the tunnel, got some parts which are small, but the vietnamese move through easily. The slightly wider americans get stuck and killed. =.=

Also went to a very lame war museum. ITS SUPER BIASED! Everything it shows is about how good vietnam is, and how bad the americans were. One exhibit even had the F word to describe the americans. SEERIOUSLY EVERYTHING!!!!

Day 3
Took a boat to an island, tried some cookies and stuff. Honey, tea,coconut biscuits etcetc. Sampled fruits, shopped at a pasar malam sort of thing.
Then, took a smaller boat (sampan) down the river back to the big boat to bring us to the mainland. I kept thinking about that Visa card ad, where this guy is dancing at different countries. He was dancing on a sampan in vietnam, and in front of a taxi in singapore.xP
Went to some temples. 1 cathedral too.
oh and watched a puppet show. quite cool, except that its in vietnamese. wth!
